With heavy hearts, we remember the great Robin Williams. A man with vast talent, a generous heart, and a gift to bring joy to the world is truly something to mourn the loss of. We feel that the world has lost their favorite uncle this week.
We cannot forget all the laughs we had with Robin Williams as there was never a shortage with humor with him, on and off the stage. When he arrived at the club for any occasion, it was always a delight to be in his presence. He engaged with staff, fans, and fellow artists in a very genuine and humble way. Our first of many, many sold out performances with Robin Williams was in the fall of 2001- a time when people were in need of a laugh in the darkness of the 9/11 wake. One of William’s great gifts was to not ignore the events, but to find humor around them to help get through.
We also cannot forget Robin William’s incredible generosity. With over 40 sold out shows at our venue, he chose to give proceeds from every show to a hefty list of local and international non-profits such as the Marin Food Bank, U.S.O, Doctors Without Borders, Seacology, and Rocket Dog Rescue. The gifts of laughs and gifts of giving were never-ending in his life.
We will never forget one of the greatest entertainers of our time. Robin Williams will always be near and dear to our hearts.
